    We Have a Unique Model for Giving Back

    First Solar works closely with local communities to provide employment opportunities to disadvantaged and underserved populations. We collaborate with Toledo high schools in Ohio to offer low-income students part-time work to finish their studies and then offer them full time employment with paid higher education. We plan to replicate this successful model at our Alabama facility. Be part of the Alabama team that helps make this happen!

    First Solar is the only US-headquartered solar manufacturer that doesn’t have manufacturing operations in China. We are investing over $4.1 billion in American manufacturing. We started our journey with about 50 employees in 1999 and now expect to directly employ over 3,000 people, putting us on the path to be the largest employer in the US solar manufacturing sector in 2026.
